STADIUM HISTORY

Located just off of Interstate 5 in Keizer, Oregon, Volcanoes Stadium is the home of the Salem-Keizer Volcanoes baseball franchise. The Volcanoes, Class-A affiliates of the San Francisco Giants, began league play in the stadium in 1997. The stadium itself seats 4,252 fans comfortably, with room for more. The stadium has 11 concession stands, a sports bar, kids playground, a bandstand, 13 luxury box suites, home run porch, and is home to the famous Jerry's Lava Dog.

Since the stadiums completion in 1997, over 1,340,000 fans have attended games at the stadium. It was the first new stadium built in the Salem-Keizer area since 1940.

In 1998, the Volcanoes won their first Northwest League Championship. The following year, the stadium received a Design Award from the America Institute of Architects. In 2000 the stadium expanded by adding the Home Run porch in left field. The Children's Play Area was added in 2001 and the Lava Lodge Sports bar in 2002. The Volcanoes Stadium Pro Shop was expanded and renovated in 2005. A touch of major league entertainment was added in 2006 with the addition of the Volcanotron video board.
